We are excited to offer and promote several workshops and events through-out the year for caregivers and families. We want to support families in helping their children build developmental motor skills, maximize their potential and encourage independence and participation.


Paediatric Pelvic Health Workshops

We are excited to be offering 2 virtual online workshops on paediatric pelvic health for both clinicians and families. These workshops will be led by Lauren Rudko, one of our physiotherapists who specializes in paediatric pelvic health.

Paediatric Pelvic Health – A Multidisciplinary Perspective Bringing Together OTs, PTs and SLPs 
Tuesday January 21st, 8pm

This interactive webinar aims to connect allied health professionals working in the paediatric space who see kids with pelvic health (bowel and bladder) concerns or have an interest in learning how to better support these kids. The webinar will include a didactic component discussing paediatric pelvic health conditions, anatomy and pressure management, as well as a discussion of the roles of different professions and conclude with two case studies..


Potty Talk – An Introduction to Paediatric Pelvic Health for Families 
Tuesday, February 11th 8 pm

This 45-minute presentation will provide families and caregivers an overview of kids’ pelvic health issues including constipation, enuresis (bedwetting) and toilet training troubles from a physiotherapy perspective. Learners will leave with a better understanding of these issues, as well as actionable strategies to help their children. The presentation will conclude with 15 minutes of open time for questions and discussion.

Growing in Motion: Motor Milestone Development for your baby and child
Monday July 29th 11am-12pm

This hands-on workshop for caregivers and children 0-3 years of age will review motor milestones and provide tips for progressing your child’s development in a fun, play setting. This workshop will take place at Beetle and Bear 1822 Danforth Avenue.


Safe and Sound Protocol (Polyvagal theory)
Monday July 29th 7-8:30 pm (ONLINE)

Learn how to calm and regulate your nervous system. The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a listening program for children and adults to help with stress, anxiety and improved focus. This workshop is open to adults, caregivers and health professionals who want to learn more about SSP, how to access it for themselves or their child and how to become a SSP provider (health care providers). Registrants will be sent a Zoom link for online workshop.

FAMILY FUN FEST
SATURDAY JUNE 8TH 2:30-4:30PM

Join us to celebrate our 20th Anniversary at our Family Fun Fest, happening at Variety Village (3701 Danforth Ave) on June 8th. This community event will feature games, inclusive activities and fun for the whole family.
This event is free. Register by June 1st.

Allied Health Networking evening at Variety Village- September 28. 2023

We are excited to host an Allied Health Networking evening at Variety Village on Thursday September 28th from 7-9pm. This event is an opportunity for paediatric physiotherapists, occupational therapists, PTA/OTA’s and speech language pathologists in the greater Toronto area to connect, network and share community resources. We will be joined by Archie Allison, Director of Access and Awareness at Variety Village and there will also be an opportunity to tour Variety Village.
