Jill completed both her Bachelor of Education (2013), and her Bachelor degree in Psychology (1990) at Trent University. She also earned additional teaching qualifications in Health & Physical Education and Special Education (2013) at Trent. Jill's rich background encompasses certification as a Personal Training Specialist, Active Aging (older adult) Trainer, Exercise Nutrition Coach, Kickboxing Instructor, Thai Yoga Stretching Fitness Professional, Group Fitness Instructor, and she also has her brown belt in karate. Jill is a certified Brain Health Trainer for fitness professionals which allows her to create brain health-specific exercise plans to help reduce clients’ risks for and symptoms of dementia. She has expertise working with all age groups from the preterm infant, preschool and school-age children, all the way to older adults in their ninth decades, specializing in adaptive personal training. Jill has worked in a variety of paediatric settings including a nursery school as a Resource Teacher, a health Unit as an Infant & Toddler Development worker, as a Group Home Supervisor for children with medical and developmental disabilities, and has been a contract worker for families with children who have developmental disabilities. She did rehab oriented and adaptive personal training at Variety Ontario for over seven years before opening her own private practice. Jill's philosophy and programs are deeply rooted in evidence-based practices, innovation, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on her clients’ lives. Jill is a member is good standing with Canfitpro. She sees a select number of clients in the Variety Village PPA clinic and does home visits within the East Toronto/ Scarborough vicinity.
